Back of the Card

Who I am and where The Baseball Diarist came from are prominent posts on the main of the blog. But just in case there’s more you want to know:

I’m Kaitlin, a 20 year old Yankee fan from Brooklyn. I’ve been a fan since 2005, and I only vaguely remember the Dynasty years. My family has no baseball fans in it besides me, and I am pretty much alone among my friends too (essentially, this site is run solo). If the name “Kaitlin” sounds too unisex for you to get it, I’m a girl. I love the Yanks, but my love of baseball is bigger than a team. I created this site with the intent that I’d learn more about other teams and my own. I like the idea that fan experience can be woven into a cohesive story parallel to the actual facts of the season.

I am, admittedly, just getting my humor feet under me, so I may or may not be funny. Also, I know I’m an English teacher’s worst nightmare when it comes to grammar. I have so frequently been cited for comma abuse that there’s a restraining order against me. Semi-colons and split infinitives are contemplating a civil suit. I don’t mind anyone correcting my grammar, as long as they’re not dicks about it.

I have cursed, do curse and will curse again. If it offends your delicate sensibilities, we aren’t going to get along very well. Also, I’d stay away from the FJM archives.

To send me stories, commentary or profanity-laden diatribes, you can reach me at kbdiarist16 (at) gmail dot com.
